Thank you again guys for the warm welcome - I think I'm gonna like it here! There's an awful lot of good stuff to meander through :)
Dayvenkirq - it's from Marillion's 'Script For A Jester's Tear' - one of my all time faves
Jim - thanks for the support mate, really appreciate that - the preview of the first few chapters on Amazon should hopefully give a pretty good indication of what's to follow. One of my mate's put a facebook message out to his friends that said "if you like romance, time travel and prog rock, then this is for you!"....and I'm more than happy with that description!

And hey, your avatar is a hand-drawn facsimile of the Holy-Diver-Devil, from Dio's first solo album, right?

To be honest, even though I'd been visiting the site for endless years, I only signed up and threw myself into the forum/reviews about a year ago, but I never noticed the `Welcome Newbies' section until weeks later, so I kind of missed the whole intro thing!

I had a similar entry to PA. I joined the forum 3+ years ago but never really introduced myself, just kinda hung around halfheartedly, voting in polls, and wasn't even a regular visitor until the last year or so, when I realized that the best way to get the most out of this place is to actively participate in it.

Welcome fellow writer and progaholic. I once taught English writing to college students; a wonderful career. But then became a Junior teacher as it seems to suit me better.
I write too much and listen to prog too much.
Its a great life.
Welcome to all this madness and keep posting on the threads here.

Thank you Aussie - nice to be here!
Gotta say it's really nice to have signed up for something new and had a couple of people come and say hello within minutes
I joined a book discussion forum online a couple of weeks ago to try and push my debut novel that I'd just had published, and although a good number of people have read my intro post, not a single person has bothered to speak to me!!! I was beginning to think I needed to change my deodorant - but you prog guys are obviously a much friendlier bunch! |
Welcome! You seem like a very interesting and promising addition to our little site. I fancy myself a writer as well, and am now launching into National Novel Writing Month to start my fourth novel (although none have been professionally published - yet!)

Thank you again guys for the kind words of welcome I'm still amazed (and pleased!) to see how much activity and interaction there is on here. I've been on forums before where the most active members were the tumbleweed that occasionally blew past!
(Typing this while listening to 'Trespass' on glorious old vinyl at frankly testicle shrivelling volume.....)

Unfortunately, it is so with the forums of our sibling sites: JMA and MMA.

Your intro made me chill! Welcome to the PA forums and I'm sure you'll find hundreds of things to read, to post, comment etc... BTW we are listening the same stuff. Except of Pallas. In their place I would have said Arena...
