Well, speaking for myself, I work shiftwork which is often afternoon/night shifts, AND I live in Australia, so that means everything is at different times to the rest of the world AND probably upside-down! |

Well obviously I tie myself to a belt wrapped around a tree while hanging upside down from a branch and listening to my music through headphones, Tymon! |

Christian Death - Only Theatre of Pain: Good Friday listening I guess. By far the best aspect of this album was Rikk's guitar. Combined heavy punk with Bauhaus flair. I preferred Rozz' vocals on the next couple of albums.
King Diamond - Fatal Portrait: Iconic album art. Unlike the Mercyful Fate stuff, there's too much falsetto going on. Satanic Bee Gees playing metal. King gained skill and made it work for the next album Abigail though. Slayer - Hell Awaits: Crypts of Eternity veers dangerously close to being a prog metal epic. At Dawn They Sleep is the true highlight though. Damn that eventual explosion into speed is sick. Judas Priest - Firepower: Ya know, it's fine I guess. I felt like I heard it all before and it didn't kick my butt, but as a nostalgia trip I can't say they failed. I played the whole thing without pause so that must mean something. It could be just me, but I thought it was just okay. Mika Nakashima - Love: The first three songs are ace, especially the epic Love Addict, but it gets into saccharine territory afterwards. Some decent grooves later on, but just getting to them ain't easy. Still, those first three numbers... Edited by Prog Sothoth - March 30 2018 at 21:15 |
