Great job from the Hulk, fairly predictable pole from Seb after seeing the Friday practices.  Most interesting was how Ferrari messed up their slipstreaming tactics... They seem to try this every year and it never works.  Alonso was pretty scathing on team radio from what I understand...  Fingers crossed for rain and JB to storm through the field for a podium!

Yay Hulky!

Hopefully he can parley it into a good finish.

Watching the Cup race in Richmond right now and it's the last race of the regular season before the Chase.  Looks like Gordon will be missing the cut for this year... Cry

That was pretty intense.

I thought Gordon was going to have it there. What a way to end the regular season.

Now I can root hopelessly for Biffle!

I like the Biff.  Probably the only Roush driver that I actually like.  But with Gordon being out of it, I'm pulling for the Busch bros all the way.  Kyle's one of my favorites and seeing Kurt fighting back and picking up the pieces after his self-inflicted turmoil is an awesome thing to watch.  He really seems like a changed person.  And if none of those guys can get it, I'll take Joey Logano.

Not a bad race from Monza. Vettel was long gone but Raikkonen and Hamilton provided a fair bit of entertainment. Hulk finishing 5th, ahead of Rosberg and right on Massa's tail was very impressive, easily best drive of the day.

Great race from the "mid-field" but the actual result of the race was another snooze-fest.  I have no problem with Seb winning as long as someone is actually challenging him right up at the front.  Its boring watching him win by 15+ seconds.  Very much like the days of the Schu, it looks like WC4 for him now... I'm gutted that Kimi didn't get the RB drive, then at least Seb might have had some real competition at the front.......

Massive rule changes for next, who knows how thats going to turn out.

Have to agree with you Nighteye's, it's turning into 2011 again, nobody seems to be able to mount a consistent challenge.

Bahrain have announced their GP next year will be a night race to mark the 10th anniversary.

I like Edwards too (and will be rooting for him to get one of these championship dealys) but Biff is my #1 choice.

Kyle would round out my top three. He certainly deserves to win at least once.

Yeh, its definitely like 2011 again.  Still not quite as dominant as 2004 when Schu had the WDC wrapped up by Hungary, but still pretty bad... Like I say, got no problem with him winning just as long as he's being hounded all the way throughout the races and the title challenge...

Yeah, though they're not sure whether it'll be a full night time or a twilight race yet. Apparently it's the reason they wont be the season opener next year, gives them time to sort out any possible problems with the flood light system, a good thing if you ask me as I'm much happier with Melbourne being the season opener.

Yup, missed the race but heard it was kind of boring.
Results certainly lackluster sans a 5th from Hulk.

It's not fun, but I dont hate predictability at the top...as long as the race can be exciting. Often there's great action even if someone leads every lap, and we're obviously back in a MS type situation. But if we get drab racing then, well Sleepy

Yeh, same.  Albert Park should always be the season opener, such a great race...

Penalties & Chase mixup.

Doesn't help your boy Gordon though.

Nope.  But putting Newman in and knocking Truex out was the right thing to do.  The radio transmissions from the 15 and 55 were way too obvious not to warrant a penalty.  I'm still rooting against Bowyer in the Chase, too.  He's the one that caused Gordon to get knocked out and he pretty much came away from this unscathed.

Massa's just confirmed today that he wont be driving for Ferrari next year, not a big surprise as many people have commented that he looked like a man who knew he was driving his last Italian GP for Ferrari at the weekend. It's expected we'll get an announcement tomorrow on who will replace him with Raikkonen the favourite. Hulkenberg would then be likely to move to Lotus or, if Kimi stays put, is the next most likely person to take the Ferrari seat.

I bet Di Resta is kicking himself for such a poor showing this weekend...  Not at all surprised by the Massa decision, he hasn't been the same driver since the knock on the head in Hungary.  I think its commendable that Ferrari kept him on as long as they have, but enough was enough... Going to be great seeing my two favourite drivers (Alonso and Raikonnen) going head to head in the same car (if it happens)!

Kimi is the natural favorite and I sure would love it!
