Both favorites of mine; I find many don't seem to appreciate A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy, I think because of the tone and setting, a lovely country house, very pastoral and unusual for Allen. It's a gorgeous movie. |
True. That does seem unusual...but a change every now and then can work well I think. That said, idk if I'd be disappointed by a Woody Allen film. Incidently... Also on the top of my list of WA's to see are Manhattan Murder Mystery, Mighty Aphrodite, and Blue Jasmine.

MMM and Aphrodite are a lot of fun, Jasmine is a weird one. Very depressive, darkest Allen film since Take the Money and Run (or maybe S&F)

In my mind at least MMM has to be a winner. A murder comedy written by Allen has quite a bit of potential. And all I heard was good things (regarding Blue Jasmine), which is why it's on the list.
