There is a few good albums on that "hated" list , for me I`ll go with Big Generator not because its brilliant though I do believe in places its very good, it brings back memories of when my life was simple and I was free, it come out at a time when I was discovering everything I could find out about Prog Rock I had become a Prog junkie ! I feel the same way for Rush Hold Your Fire though thats not on the list to vote for. I also like Pink Floyd`s Momentary Lapse of reason I went to the Floyd concert in Melbourne when that come out it has a special meaning to me.

On The Sunday of Life is here because most of the PT fans that only know In Absentia and Deadwing and such do not appreciate Wilson's early experiments. I know its not everyone, especially the open minded music lovers on this site, but it is most of the general population |
You better stay at home, lest you be hanged from a tree in a public square for including PT in the poll!!!!!!

Under Wraps is the only stinker in Tull's long career as far as I'm concerned. I played it the other day for the first time in maybe 10 yrs, just to see if I felt the same. I turned it off halfway through. This is from someone who can listen to Love Beach all the way through on occasion! |
Thanks for the tip, I have seen it before at my local used record store and have debated buying it on a few occasions. I might skip it for now |
Oh, Under Wraps isn't that bad. I mean, sure it's crap, but it's quality crap. I prefer to most of the heavy metal period further on.

Momentary Lapse. The Single factor is pretty good, too, though.

This one is easy-- Abacab by several miles. The 'Momentary' tour was great, but then I went the second night and it was *exactly* the same, like seeing a play twice in a row.

I don't know the Caravan's album you listed, but I do like the rest of the albums you mentioned.

Jethro Tull "A" is a great album, in my humble opinion!
I adore the superb Black Sunday and the folky The Pine Marten's Jig!

Other. The live album "Vital" by Van der Graaf Generator is hated by many, but is in my opinion one of the very best live albums ever, despite the technical problems Jackson had.

I don't think Yes' "Big Generator" is a bad album at all - not Prog, just a good rock album using drums, guitars and synths which many other bands get away with, but it's so polished and they do it so well
Purple's "Abandon" - not their best, a real disappointment especially after the brilliant "Perpendicular"
"On the Sunday of Life" - a very early effort, before the band really got into their stride i guess?
"Abacab" - another pop effort, i actually liked this when it came out, but the formula now sounds very hackneyed.
Pink Floyd - a momentary lapse of marketing!

A.
Pretty solid album overall.
The same could be said about AMLOR and OTSOL, which get 2nd and 3rd for me.

It sure is amasterufl album, but I agree with Z, it was not part of the poll nor is there any "other" option... is it so impossible to just pick from the choices? Should we alwways have to act like if we always like something different than the rest? Should The T be nominated for the nobel prize?
