The seeds of thrash metal are in that song. The only other song that's even close to thrash metal from around that time that I know of is Ozzy's "I Don't Know", curteosy of the magnificent Randy Rhoades R.I.P. - but that was 2 years later.

Priest were ahead of their time by at least 3-4 years, as were Spooky Tooth - the band who originally wrote "Better By You, Better Than Me".

Someone else said it but I think Sin After Sin is great.  They had a lot of good songs. Has anyone ever heard the 2cd Century Media Tribute? There were some great versions of Priest songs on that.

I love Priest. I saw them live at Ozzfest '04, and they were really amazing.

My favorite Priest albums are Stained Class, Hell Bent For Leather, and Sad Wings of Destiny. Unleashed in the East kicks a lot of ass as well. The 70s was Priest's best era, in my opinion.

Last summer Halford substituted for Ozzy at a Black Sabbath gig in the states somewhere, would have loved to hear that! Apparently Iommi was impressed with his performance.

I was there for that show. It was crazy.

I saw them live before producing their last album and were great on stage

Halford's voice was not as perfect as when he was young, but who cares???

their latest album is fairly good, especially the opening track, I love it
