UPD: wait, you gave only 4 stars to Frames?

Oh, I'll have to change that on my iTunes then....

Yes, I really like Frames, but I think 4 is my rating for it.  I thought 4 stars was excellent?

I knew I'd forget a couple (Riverside and Galahad). I also put Fish and Marillion as a tie because I really can't pick out which one I like better. 13th Star is Fish's best in a very long time.

For 2007 so far:

Neal Morse - Sola Scriptura
Fish - 13th Star (tie)
Marillion - Somewhere Else (tie)
Rush - Snakes And Arrows
Iona - The Circling Hour
The Flower Kings - The Sum Of No Evil
Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet
Magic Pie - Circus Of Life
Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
Riverside - Rapid Eye Movement
Sylvan - Presets
Glass Hammer - Culture Of Ascent
Shadow Circus - Welcome To The Freakroom
Kaipa - Angling Feelings
The Puppet Show - The Tale Of Woe
Blind Ego - Mirror
Circa - 2007
Knight Area - Under A New Sign
Amaran's Plight - Voice In The Light
Galahad - Empires Never Last
Blackfield - Blackfield II
Pain Of Salvation - Scarsick
Starcastle - Song Of Times

In no particular order, so far:

- Battles - Mirrored
- Grayceon - Grayceon
- The Pax Cecilia - Blessed Are The Bonds
- Grails - Burning Off Impurities

A vague representation of my top 5 for this year. Still need A LOT of listening to do so things will definitely change.

I'm still getting into a few recent buys and there's time yet for another excellent cd or 2( or 20 Big%20smile) to get into my collection before the end of the year but my top 10 will almost certainly include the latest releases by Rush, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Beardfish, The Flower Kings, Threshold, Riverside and Amaran's Plight.......and that's just the Prog stuff.

That only leaves room for 2 more!.......Sleepytime Gorilla Museum perhaps Thumbs%20Up

Metaphor - The Sparrow
GH - Culture of Ascent

Strong contestant for album of the year for me is the new Manes album!

It's one of the most original albums of the year I've heard so far.

I haven't listened to too many albums from this year, but this is about how I'd rank them, I have a tie for first at the moment:

1. Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet (4.5)
1. Riverside - Rapid Eye Movement (4.5)
3. Oceansize - Frames (4)
4. Porcupine Tree - Nil Recurring (4)
5. Blackfield - Blackfield II (3.5)
6. Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos (3)
7. Abigail's Ghost - Selling Insincerity (2-2.5, not too impressed by this one)

I haven't listened to Yndi Halda enough to rank it.

If I could include non-prog albums, Chevelle's Vena Sera (4) would be third.
