Yours Is No Disgrace
Starship Trooper
Close To The Edge
You And I Siberian Khatru
South Side Of The Sky
Heart Of The Sunrise
The Gates Of Delirium Awaken
Machine Messiah
And then one day you find Ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun
For me, Yes just found a really nice balance of so many styles and
genres of music; i.e. jazz, classical, rock, fusion, blues, folk, and in
turn, created a sound all their own. They had ample knowledge on their
instruments and song writing to not only write mind-blowing epics, but
also killer pop songs when they wanted to. Yes is also the best example
of incorporating vocals tastefully into sometimes extremely complex
compositions. These guys could really play, they had tremendous
chemistry with eachother, and it came across in the records and live
performances.
1 Close to the Edge
2 Sound Chaser
3 Siberian Khatra
4 And You and I
5 Heart of the Sunrise

Not in any particular order:
1. Sound Chaser 2. Heart of the Sunrise 3. Siberian Kathru 4. And You and I 5. Perpetual Change 6. South Side of the Sky 7. Parallels 8. Long Distance Runaround 9. Into the Lens 10. What ever is the best song off of Open YourEyes (It's such a universally loathed album that I'll give it a consideration here just for the benefit of it being so - the little engine that could, and all that.) Note: Close To the Edge and Gates of Delirium are epics, not songs, so they're off the list. Anyone putting Wonderous Stories on their list simply has to get out more often. Those entranced with the four sections of TFTO should realize the band had a new drummer at the time still trying to learn the old stuff, a won't budge singer who was hell bent on foisting his song ideas on the bemused others, and a keyboard wizard demystified in the intent and particularly disinterested in what would come of things - a recipe for you know what.
Enjoyable about Yes is Anderson, Bruford-White, Howe, Squire, and Wakeman.

I think I did this in another post a few months ago, but it keeps changing for me. So here's off the top of my head again-- and I'll elaborate a little more as to the why's:
1. Gates of Delirium. Bold, epic, innovative, free, and unique (still working on my review--man it's a difficult one). 2. Heart of the Sunrise. Love the hard bass/guitar drive and eventual climax of this one. 3. Close to the Edge. Once had this above Gates, but changed my mind--still great though. 4. Machine Messiah. A powerful epic sound that moves smoothly through different rhythms/emotions. 5. Awaken. Open, free, and spiritual sounding, with great musicianship. 6. Tempus Fugit. Great Bass.... Yesss.... 7. Starship Trooper. I like the extended version best. 9. Wonderous Stories. Yes's best short song. 8. Siberian Khartu. Another very complex song, yet at the same time sounds mostly free n' fun 10. Then. The best song on Time and a Word.
