Yeah, I just don't feel like doing it myself...

dude...... I almost totally skipped this poll because of the title
I know After Crying , but I was not interested in a poll about various After Crying albums or songs or whatever
then when I get in I find out this is the big tournament !!
talk about hiding this round so no one can find it!!
I voted for PTree btw

Once I close this poll I'll probably change the title to the usual one. Just to prove 2 points: 1- After I do that I'm sure there will be a flood of votes for PT. 2- Lots of people don't read what's happening on these polls. They are mere clickers.

you are having fun.
I can see that
But you are also totally ruining what was a really good tournament....
I'm not sure you are proving point number 2 above either
but whatever

^ I don't think so. This is probably the poll with most objective results. No fanboyism whatsoever.Just people voting for their favorites. And its results are turning out to be far more interesting than if I had done it the other way

People who know After Crying, also know Porcupine Tree, and half of them voted for the latter. But it's ok. Perhaps I've touched a nerve with my "proving points" comment. If so, I'm sorry to anyone who felt attacked, and I won't do what I'd say I will.

I reviewed on one of After Crying's albums and gave it a 4 star so I am mildly interested in them
but what about the people who know After Crying and don't like them at all....
why would they click on this poll??
those people have no idea this poll is part of the tournament.... so their votes are not being counted

As I said before, I knew this wouldn't seem right to a lot of people. I'm aware this is not completely fair and I understand your reasons. But still, I think that naming this poll Porcupine Tree vs. After Crying would attract a much larger number of people who don't know After Crying, and vote anyway for PT than the ones who are being left out because they don't like After Crying.

You're soooo wrong. I voted for them. I own 7 PT albums, the last Blackfield release, and both Steven Wilson's albums. I'm just following my convictions and doing what I think it's fair. It's just a different point of view from yours.

sure... fair...
let's have a poll of people who know ( and like ) AC and see if they like PT more or not
almost any band would lose to any obscure band if the poll was rigged this way
but whatever ... you want to ruin your tournament.,.... go ahead

I don't see it that way. But I guess we will go round in circles on this discussion.
I honestly don't care who wins this competition. I just enjoy the process of making it, the debates and things like that. I surely do have favorites, but it won't matter a lot to me if Opeth is eliminated by The Tangent on the next round. If that happens, well, I'm sorry for them.
I also thought it was a good idea to innovate a little just for a change. Obviously, you didn't think the same

After this poll closes and you rename the title, I just bet that there will be a complete landslide of PT votes.
I also bet most of them will be from people that have never heard After Crying, but since most of them also wont post, there's no way to prove it.
Sticking the unknown underdog against the steamroller that is PT, who have gained the most votes in just about every poll they've ever been in on this site for the last 5 years, was always going to end up with a foregone conclusion within a few hours of the poll opening.

Though I'm Hungarian, I've have never really liked AC having known them since their very first album. I'm not a big fan of PT either but I like Coma Divine, Sunday Life, Transmission IV and Voyage 34 (Original version). So PT got my vote.
