Lately I've been into Magma's Kohntarkosz a lot, so I'll give that a nod.

Another great year with too many favorites than I again care to list individually. On top of them all, however, stands one: Relayer.

Relayer just inches above The Lamb for me...'74 is my all time favourite year...prog or otherwise. In addition to those that made the list, some prog and some not that I love...Ange - Au Dela Du Delire Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs Joni Mitchell - Court and Spark Grateful Dead - From the Mars Hotel Hawkwind - Quark Strangeness and Charm Queen - Queen II Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties | Quark, Strangeness & Charm is from 1977 !! Hall of the Mountain Grill was the Hawk's '74 album |
Oops...thanks for the correction...I had it in my music file as '74. I always knew Hawkwind was ahead of their time

Difficult one between "Mirage", "Hamburger Concerto", and "Turn of the Cards". I'll be going with the Focus one, though.

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I tend to feel like the only one on this site who's not a fan of Relayer. I'd even go as far as to say it's my least favorite album of there's from the 70's.

Difficult choice since there are a lot of great albums from this year, but I'll choose Camel Mirage.
