I was very sad to hear the news of Christine passing tonight. One of the greatest female vocalists and songwriters of all time, a huge influence on many others, and simply stunning in her art and general outlook.

One of my favourite photographs on an album is that of her looking exhausted, but yearning and simply beautiful, on the Mac Live Alum of the Tusk tour.

RIP Songbird.

that one hurts.. a lot... RIP Christine. One many of us of a certain age grew up adoring.. while Stevie engaged the hormones.. Christine fully did the heart and soul.

we're doing a marathon now but suppose by the time I we get to this.. if Songbird doesn't have me in tears yet.. this one will.

Very sad news. I met her some years ago. She was as nice and sweet as she looked. RIP Irene.

^ I did not know her name but I heard this song many times obviously!

Shes a legend and a singing genius.

What a song this was and is, and with a magical video.

yes, very sad. One of the few for which the descriptor Legend is wholly apt.

This one hits close to home.
Back in the late 70's and through to the mid 80's BUSKER (listed on PA) shared a manager with Helix. Both our bands were on the road when one of their original guitarists, Paul Hackman, was killed. Their tour van went over an embankment while touring out west in the early winter.
But this...I'm at a loss for words. London is my hometown.

What a voice! Saw them live n Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens back in the early 80's. Sadly there were a lot of empty seats.

About 1/2 hour before I left work today my MP3 player (with 1700 songs on it) played Silver Dollar Forger. I'm thinking Rampant might be my favourite album by them, with Razamanaz and Hair of the Dog following close by.
