Here it is:

CARTOON was formed in 1995 in Minas Gerais-Brazil, and has produced, independently, all his work. The release of the albuns, added to the exotic performances of the band, his charisma, strong vocal and instrumental virtuosity of the musicians, earned the recognition of the public and critics, who chose the band as one of the main representatives of Progressive Rock in Brazil today.

CARTOON sound brings the perfect combination of many musical styles such as rock, classical music, Brazilian music and Indian blues, jazz and folk, among others ... All this sounded harmoniously, as if the unpredictable world of cartoons sprung to life through music. This combination, sometimes difficult to label, has conquered people of all ages and nationalities, perhaps due to the universality of the message and the music that the band produces.

The first album was released in 1999 and named "Martelo" (Hammer). On this records, the band used an outside aesthetics of musical standards of his time (mixing rock with elements of classical music, samba, jazz and Indian music), also innovating with regard to the lyrics and artwork, which operate with a lot of creativity mystical concept and humorous.

The second project, released in 2002 in a memorable sold-out show at the Grand Palace Theater of the Arts, is titled "Bigorna" (Anvil)and is designed in the shape of a real Rock Opera (with a libretto in comic book format in the time of the show release). Considered the first work of its kind to be produced in Brazil, the Rock Opera subtitled as “The True Story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Tale" is seem under the unusual terms of CARTOON. This album launched the band definitively on the world market, earning rave reviews in specialist magazines and websites around the world, plus an award for best album and best band in 2002 on the site Progressive Rock Brazil, both in choosing the site as the choice of public.

The third record, was released in 2008 and is called "Estribo" (Stirrup)and ends the trilogy that deals with the three ossicles in charge of human hearing. The central idea of this new work revolves around the emotions and conflicts of a young musician who, like Beethoven, is deaf due to paralysis of a tiny ear bone called the stirrup! The isolation and suffering caused by deafness, leading then to question its entire existence and embark on a fantastic journey where every step, he overcomes his fears and difficulties toward a glorious end. The album has won rave reviews and is considered by many as the best and most mature work of the group.

To CARTOON bio.

Corrected some spelling and deleted the word "perfect", letting listeners to decide whether it is so:

"CARTOON was formed in 1995 in Minas Gerais-Brazil and produced, independently, all their works. The release of the albums, added to the exotic performances of the band, its charisma, strong vocal and instrumental virtuosity of musicians, earned recognition of the public and critics, who chose the band as one of the main representatives of Progressive Rock in Brazil today.

The last paragraph is not completely clear for me. Can anyone help to get into the words marked with red?
I propose to edit the text in this thread first, when it will be OK, we'll replace bio at the band's page. Any suggestions are welcome.

^ Good point Smile

My initial idea was only to replace "7-musician Brazilian outfit" to "Brazilian quartet".

Let's think what's better - existing bio or its new variant.

Maybe we should ask Admin? This new one seems to be somewhat a collection of short album reviews.

I'll deal with this later...busy now. Unless you want to contact Admin.

IMHO no need to disturb admins.

I've read once again both bios and I think the old one tells more of the band's sound and influences. Replaced "7-musician Brazilian outfit" with "Brazilian quartet". I think that's enough.

Anyway thanks to everyone for participation. Clap

If you, guys, disagree and prefer new bio, let's ask admins.

Hi Bartek, nice to see you here. Smile

Surely I mean quartet. With the help of ProgShine (see previous page of this thread) it became clear that it is 4-piece band, guest musicians involved in some albums.

I just wanted to bump this biography for you guys, as I'm not so sure how to add/edit biographies. And also wasn't sure what to do with this new one, as I don't know the band.

Only through the Admin Section. You have to be an SC to be able to access it though.
