In the days of LP's I only ever played the third side and wore out the vinyl. As hard as I tried I couldn't get into the rest of the album. The concept didn't do much for me either but I loved the animations from the movie.

After listening to both Lamb and TFTO TWICE EACH yesterday, and loving both, I can honestly say this:

Lamb is way, way more convoluted of a concept than Tales, and a denser listen. I feel you can just throw Tales on and let the celestial sounds do their thing while you work, almost like a soundtrack to life itself, where as Lamb is like "Sit the f**k down, grab notes, and focus for the duration!", lol.

To each their own. Tales relaxes, Lamb wakes up IMHO.

Dang! What an undertaking, lol.

Maybe I'm just too impatient to try and read into Tale's concept but I do think the music on Tales works just fine without knowing anything about the lyrics. On the other hand, The Lamb has incredible music that asks you to pay attention to the lyrics to heighten the experience. It's more cinematic.
Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

That's what I should have said instead of my analysis, lol. Lamb for me requires full focus for the story or else it's like cacophony in the background THE CHAMBER WAS IN CONFUSION lol.

You nailed it: Tales is fantastic music for living to!
