It wasn't written as a joke. Even it was supposed to be a joke, it's still not funny.
You've got it wrong Fantamos. It's: BON JOVI KISSES ASS!!! (especially the young boy kind)
Even Syzygy is messed up. He says "I'm going to vote for Bon Jovi as well. When it comes to soulless, derivative 80s stadium rock they leave Gentle Giant standing".
It's obvious he's never even heard Gentle Giant. The broke up in 1980 and NEVER played "stadium rock". Bon Jovi definitely fits the label "80's stadium rock". I guess people like Syzygy either like attacking bands they've never heard, or love to live in a constant state of confusion...

What an utterly ridiculous topic (poll). Complete,
total stupidity. A waste of space and time. An insult to

no evidence to humor, I can only assume that Pac Mac was serious.
Pac Man should be dragged out into the streets and shot ......

P.S. If you're into Bon Jovi, go to some MTV / pop
website. This website is for bands with measureable
talent. Bon Jovi = 0 talent

awww come on, this poll is a joke |
Yeah, don't take this poll too seriously. Specially now that GG is leading.

Who is this Bon Jovi?
Did he make a painful noise out of his backside recently? Or was
that me, making that flatulating music that I thought was Bon
Jovi?

Just on the offchance that you actually don't realise everyone is joking, surely you can see that if Gentle Giant have never played stadium rock, then even the worst stadium rock band would beat them at it?

I'm guessing as of currently only 33 people have ever heard Gentle Giant.

Time to drag this thread up a few notches and produce an interesting link between Gentle Giant and Bon Jovi....
Derek Shulman was the dynamic front-man for Gentle Giant. With his powerful voice, Derek sang lead vocals on most of their recordings. In live shows, he also sang Kerry Minnear's lead vocal parts.
Derek worked his way to become a vice-president at PolyGram Records, where he signed not only Bon Jovi but also Cinderella, Kingdom Come, Tears for Fears, Men Without Hats, and Dexy's Midnight Runners. Later, as president of ATCO Records, a subsidiary of Warner Communications, he signed AC/DC, Bad Company, Pantera, The Rembrandts, Jive Bunny, and Soho... all of whom went platinum or multi-platinum. Derek also was president and CEO of Roadrunner Records in New York City, which has rock-oriented artists like Slipknot, Type O Negative, Coal Chamber, Fear Factory, and Machinehead.

Arrgh, NutterAlert, you stole my one and only chance to show off my knowledge on this forum! The thing is, the other day I was listening to New Jersey, that wonderful, classic Bon Jovi album from 1988, and was reading the sleeve notes when I noticed the name Derek Shulman among the people who were thanked for their support. My jaw dropped and I was thinking "goodness me, could it really be THAT Derek Shulman, no way...!" I got so curious that I had to find out and yup, indeed there was a Gentle Giant connection there, lol. Of course, Derek and Jon Bon Jovi have remained great friends ever since those days -though the impact of that obviously cannot be heard in the music
As for voting, I will need as many GG albums as I have Bon Jovi albums to decide...*ahem*
