hmm... I'm skeptical, and I have to agree with many of the dissenters. In my opinion, e-newsletters are worthless- if you want to read something, you just jump online and go read it! Having a e-newletter would be useless and redundant... e-mail clutter. Now, if it was a real newsletter that showed up in my mailbox, and was presentable and had unique and interesting articles, then I would read it. Something akin to a mini-"progression magazine", you know, but with some feature articles by forum members... now that would be interesting. Of course, such a publication would require advertisements for funding, but its like my step-father had always taught me before he passed away- if you're going to do a job, do it right. Why cheap out on e-mail clutter? Obviously, I'm not an administrator, and I don't know the inner-workings of the site, how much time and money the site admins have, etc., but if there's only time and resources enough to do an e-mail letter and not a real publication, then I say, don't bother. If the resources are there, I think the site, with the help of its members, should put out a real publication. Of course, thats my opinion... I, for one, would be more than willing to volunteer my time to put out a monthly or quarterly publication.

Another question for consideration: what should it be called?

A few ideas of my own:

"Out of the Archives"
"Tales from ProgArchives"
"Wonderous Stories"
"The ProgLetter"
"The Relayer"
"Going for the Archives"
"The Dark Side of ProgArchives" (muahaha!)
"Making Progress"
"Thick as an Archive"
"Moving Archives"
"Script for a ProgArchive"

*gag* talk about some bad ideas. Somebody call quality control!

How about new mp3's?

I hate looking at every band just to find mp3's. There are too many groups to search through

You are entirely right!!

why not give it a different title every week/month? You could use fonts, themes, colours, images, background relating the to the album used in the title, eg dark side of progarchives would have a black background.

when will we start getting this newsletter?
