Picking 5,10, or 50 is hard because what makes YES stand far and above other bands is that almost all their songs are at the same extremely high level of excellence, but to comply here I will submit a list of 10.

Awaken
The Revealing Science of God
The Remembering
CTTE (Yessongs version)
Parallels
Yours Is No Disgrace (Yessongs version)
Sound Chaser
Gates Of Delirium
On The Silent Wings Of Freedom
And You And I
Then (yes, I know, that makes 11 songs)

YES music is magic. Perhaps one day I can better articulate that.  Suffice to say YES didn't just create progressive rock, they created their own genre, YES Music.  Music like no other. Not Jazz, Not classical, not limited to progressive rock. Just YES music, it stands all by itself and the magic is self evident. YES music is full of:

Musical wonderment
Creative uniqueness
Hope, Joy & Love & Power & Intensity & Confusion & Clarity & Peace

This is excellent!  I'd replace "Ritual" with "CTTE," but you nailed the heart of the band!  Clap

(I rarely find another soul on PA who agrees with me about the excellence of "The Remembering"!)

Hi WillisAndTheNorth, Smile

I admire all the 1st YES record stuff you have in your list.  My first record was Yesterdays, and I love every song
from that record.  Your top ten list does beg a question.

Have you heard?

Relayer
Close To The Edge
Going For The One
Tales From Topographic Oceans

Cheers!

It's safe to assume that you largely fell out of love with Yes when they turned into a bunch of boring old farts circa 1972 then?LOLConfused

@Laz:

I'm concerned they don't have any YES, more current than Fragile, down there in Texas.Wink

That would be an understatement.  If parts of California would be the most liberal, then Texas would be the most conservative. Yet Texas has a very progressive area, which is their State Capitol, Austin.  Austin is also the home of perhaps the world's finest guitar player:

Mr. Eric Johnson

1) The gates of delirium
2) Close to the edge
3) The revealing science of God
4) Awaken
5) Starship trooper (Yessongs)
6) Roundabout
7) I've seen all good people
8) Turn of the century
9) To be over
10) And you and I
A list that doesn't include Heart of the sunrise, The remembering, Sound chaser , Ritual, Yours is no disgrace, South side of the sky etc indicates a particularly brilliant group (IMHO)
