Radiohead, Stereolab, and Basement Jaxx came to mind immediately. Not that I don't like some of the others' output; but, c'mon, this thread was only started to piss Walter off .

Urgh, tough one. Came down to Tool, The Mars Volta and Mastodon for me, but ultimately I had to side with Tool.

Opeth, Psychotic Waltz and Enslaved for the heavy stuff. PT, Anekdoten and Motorpsycho for the less heavy assault

Animals as Leaders are a movement still in its infancy in some ways. Heck Meshuggah, which is a parent to AaL, isn't even there. I love the AaL album and almost put it there just to give them a vote. But Opeth is easily my fave band of the last 20 years. AaL may be one of the most important for the coming decade.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.
