I've just been looking at everyday-but-surprising Canada bands again.

July Talk: he sings growly sometimes bluesy, she sings really poppy, clean and 'pretty,' thus it makes sense that all of their artsy music videos are in black and white (because opposites). Standard but nicely produced modern hard rock

And these guys have been around longer but I just recently noticed how sexy the bass playing was:
