The book of Job might be a helpful book to study on this topic. And our sign is the finished work of Christ. The perfect life, crucifixion, resurrection, and soon return of the Messiah Jesus Christ. Do we need to demand more? Why should the clay always demand explanation from the potter? But honestly it really is a struggle, I don't understand why things happen the way they do.

I totally agree.
I think there is often too much emphasis on the feeling, when it comes to faith.
Lots of times people have "desert experiences", often for a long time, where they don't feel or experience anything of God.
It's hard, though, I admit!
As a pastor, I sometimes meet people who seem to have many catastrophes at the same time.

The key is to never stop believing regardless of what happens in your life. It's not for us to know why bad things happen. A walk with Jesus is not for the weak. There are perils and pitfalls around every corner. Just stay on the path and keep going forward.

The bible is written in cryptic language.It is garbed with metaphors, parables and
symbolisms.It seems to me that those
who realize this still take the metaphors verbatim and passages that are
literal are taken metaphorically.
Since faith came up, this passage about faith is literal and
not figurative.
“If you have faith as
small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to
there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Faith is the intuitive power of the soul, it is unchanging.It can literally move mountains as well as change
the orbits of the planets.“Nothing is impossible.”
Belief is of the ego and can change along with any thought
process.

I guess i'm weak and if i'm being tested i'm failing miserably.I believe i'm basically a decent person who treats everyone as i would like to be treated.Yet i'm constantly having to deal with never ending bad luck and misfortune.My mom tries to get me to go back to church but i simply cannot believe in it anymore.Sorry if this sounds appalling to anyone.You would have to walk a mile in my shoes to understand.I do consider PA a positive force and theraputic in its own way though.

I completely understand. I have only been to church once in the last year or so. Church has never really been for me. You can believe and not go to Church. Christ is everywhere you seek him, not just in some building on Sunday morning. Believe me I have had my share of bad luck, but like I said a walk with Jesus is not for the weak. You will be tested. It's easy to give up and stop believing. PA is a positive force. There is a brotherhood here that is very comforting. And believe me there are many here who are atheists yet they do not judge and treat me with any disrespect. We accept everyone for who they are. In a way PA is more like a church should be.

Hey, a friend of mine on another forum is dealing with cancer pretty bad. He's a young guy, but they don't expect him to live too much longer. Please keep him and the other terminal illness victims (including presdoug's dad and numerous relatives and friends of Scott) in your prayers.

Here's a bit of Ambrosian chant, a style that came from the Milan area in about the 4th century. A bit of a different flavor from Gregorian. If you like it there's much more on YT if you search Ambrosian chant. Enjoy!
