Topic: Queensryche vs Pantera Posted: December 13 2014 at 08:21 |
Both bands debuted same year, took vastly different paths yet paved way for many riff based bands of 90s, early Pantera sounded like early Queenaryche, only weeker, but both have lfet prints into metal scene.

Pantera all the way! I don't think they stand a chance against Queensryche around here but still they were the real deal. Great songwriting, incredible musicianship, here's a band that the young generation will always come back to.

Queensryche
I like Pantera, too, especially Cowboys from Hell and Vulgar Display of Power, but I like QR more.

Pantera Discovered this band after hearing Cemetery Gates on KNAC (a local Metal station in the L.A. area) and ended up with six CDs, both earlier and later than Cowboys From Hell. The high point for me was the incredible guitar style of Dimebag Darrell. At that time no other Metal guitarist could come close to him, especially when it came to going high up on the fret board.
