really? I think everyone... even none fans of the group can see and recognize the importance Radiohead has on todays scene. Seriously how many commericial successful groups turned their back on that success for art's sake and making dense complex music. So often the reverse is true. However in rare serious Micky mode. A serious question. I don't see it with .RTF. Bonus Micky points if you care to explain briefly how you think RTF pushing the envelope in the 70's further than Radiohead did in the 90's. To the uneducated or merely disinterested.. RTF are merely seen as yet another J-R Fusion band, though one of immense talent. More so than most.

I have nothing negative to say about RTF, they're one of the cooler fusion bands I've heard. But the Floyd is one of my Top 5 from any genre.

Next time keep the big three/four out of the context. How could I not vote for Pink Floyd?

Yeah. I thought of a couple of variations. Giving the top 4 automatic byes all the way TO the final 8 and letting them face off against the survivors of the earlier rounds, as well as just eliminating them altogether but while they suck some drama out of the early rounds killing the bands unfortunate to draw them, it will at the end have its own drama at the end when the heavies face off. I think next year we are going to do a similar contest but this one an 'album' contest, and that could be far more interesting if voters judge simply on the album, not the group itself. Thus one shot wonders could have a chance to unseat some of the heavies. Plus it would allow prog/progressive albums from non database artists or those like Miles Davis that were left out of the contest to compete.

Floyd. Greater musicianship in RTF, of course, but I really can't stand Chick Corea's singing, and Stanley Clarke's tenor harmonies are woeful.

You haven't heard woeful singing until you hear Steve Howe in the vocals.
Wow, the guy is a genius with the guitar, there should be a law against him singing even in the shower.

Howe ranks right up there with Linda McCartney as far as singers that you have to isolate in the mix to hear just how badly they are croaking.
