Perhaps the easiest contest for me so far.  Tangerine Dream.  I have yet to hear any Sigur Ros that could sustain my interest for more than ten minutes, and I will listen to almost anything for at least ten minutes.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

Sigur Rós.

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

If Tangerine Dream were defunct, my vote would go to Sigur Ros but they remain very much active.

It's close, but I went with Sigur Ros. To be honest, I don't care much for anything by Sigur Ros after the Takk album; but then, I'm not crazy about anything by Tangerine Dream after Force Majeure....
