Two different things: Goblin's song is more funky oriented with a good bass line and rhythm, but the TD track is more atmospheric. I go for the Germans
Curiosity killed a cat, Schroedinger only half.

While listening, I found Blind Concert to be a little bit too long/repetitive, so I voted for Abyss.

I'll vote Goblin in this instance. Not such a great fan of early TD (pre 1975)

Two compositions that couldn't be more different unless TD added scat vocals and Goblin added bagpipes. I'm unable to vote in this poll because each fully succeeds at what it does, and both are superb, recorded at a time when both bands were headed at full speed towards their zenith.

In this case, both are from 1977. "Abyss" is from Sorcerer, released the same year as Suspiria. Some of TD's very early music doesn't suit me, either (and I previously owned, on LP, and listened to Electronic Meditation in all its grating glory), but there are great moments on Alpha Centauri, Atem and, of course, Phaedra. Though it was "finished" over a decade later, Green Desert is actually one of my favorite TD albums.

Goblin, Blind Concert.

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Blind concert is awesome
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.
