Y/N was formed by Zachary Kondak, after he decided to end his previous project Sons of Cepheids. (already in Prog Archives). Zachary Kondak look at the shift from Sons of Cepheids to Y/N as more than just a simple name change; that compositional approach was completely reinvented.

Y/N is currently a strictly recorded project. All composition and instrumentation is executed by Zachary Kondak only. Mr Kondak is now looking for musicians in his area who would be willing to learn his songs, so that he could play shows with them.

Y/N is bases out of Poughkeepsie, NY. Y/N was formed in May of 2014.

Y/N's main influences include: Gentle Giant, Steve Reich, TTNG, King Crimson, Henry Cow, Yes, Maps & Atlases, ELP, Olivier Messiaen, Tera Melos, Rush, Magma, The Fall of Troy, Peter Gabriel, DÜN, The Mars Volta, Death Cab for Cutie, Kōenji Hyakkei, Nick Drake, National Health, PFM, Giraffes? Giraffes!, UK, Hatfield and the North, Terry Riley, Henryk Gorecki, Rod Argent, Arvo Pärt.
