^ Just because English speakers didn't buy most non-UK prog doesn't mean that the UK was the bastion of the vast majority of prog, just the dominant form purely through sales.
Which didn't stop the RPI scene from dominating Italy specifically and managing to even put PFM over in Anglophone countries to a degree, further. In fact, RPI alone ruins your argument.

haha.. judging on how my thread about men's shoes has been highjacked by Genesis fans and a sprinkling of Yes fans... I think you are not the only one that needs to take more on an interest in their shoes |

^ You originally claimed that the UK had the vast majority of prog. Number of bands. Sales have nothing to do with that.
UK prog mattered more due to reach, but to just say "70's prog = UK" is an amazing leap of logic. All sorts of bands from Germany, Italy, France, and Eastern Europe alone would like to have a word with you again.

I agree it was not technically correct - but it was it accurate in the context of where it was posted .. this site, this thread ... where the polls have been almost entirely made from UK bands. |

^ Just as a final note, you also mentioned the battle of the bands, which included at start PFM, Banco, Le Orme, Osanna, Magma, Gong, Bo Hansson, Can, Popol Vuh, Kraftwerk, SBB, and Ange. Polls in general are UK-centric... for the longest time not these.

I'll try one last time to bring this thread back on the rails...
so what are everyone's favorite type of boot.. the square toedroper ( which is mine.. I find the shorter shaft easier in day to day wear...and much more practical since I don't usually have to worry about bushes, thorns or especially rattlesnakes here in the DC area) or the classic pointed toed long shaft boot. |

I'm not really into footwear (I'd rather go barefoot) but, to keep this thread on-topic, I'll ask this question... Which do you prefer? Sandals or Slippers? |

hah! that earns you some McClappies We like our threads to stay on topic and not get hijacked you know. Sandals or slippers.. christ man.. that is like asking me ELP or Camel. sandals are for pussies and hipsters... slippers are like TLC in the evening for your poor feet. Especially for those who spend all day on their feet. |

It took forever to finally vanquish genesis and now you bring them back for an extra add-on poll? This makes me very cross.

I'd like the explanation because I have no clue what joke you were even going for. Sandal wearing and granola eating is a hippie thing, right? Not sure how that relates to me or my comment and the "talk about footwear" thing is even more confusing. |
