My vote went to Mike Wilkinson based on his artwork not necessary music album or band:

Roger Dean is it. Although Whitehead paints suit very well to early Genesis records...

Right on, Kati! I love that band, and that song in particular.
From your list, I pick Roger Dean.
My all time favourite one is Helmut Wenske, responsible for some stunning artwork from some of my very favourite bands, like Passport, Nektar, Dzyan, and Pell Mell.

I've been following Dean forever ... but I have a special place in my heart for Whitehead  Dean is very cool and distinctive but I like Whitehead's rawness just a little more.

Has to be Roger Dean. What wouldn't I give to live in his fantasy wonderland, especially that ABWH cover...

A toss up between Dean and Whitehead from this list, but my favourite is H.R. Giger. He did more than just ELP's BSS.
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

I think Dean has influenced so many people who followed him---not just in art but design in film etc---
James Cameron ripped him off big time in Avatar whether Dean won the lawsuit or not----Cameron is a thief who takes stuff and then acts like he thought of it. Cameron was a Yes fan from childhood and grew up seeing those Dean album covers. That whole thing got me so ......Angry

Roger Dean. Only Storm Thorgerson can deal with it.

I have always enjoyed the work of Roger Dean immensely.  My favorites of his are the five-armed man from the Greenslade albums (and I don't particularly like the music).  His style has done a great deal to establish the visual element of Prog.  At the same time, I also admire the melancholy atmospheres Wilkinson created for Marillion, especially the last two above.  Special mention must go to Whitehead for his twisted image covering Nursery Cryme.  Guaranteed to get some sort of response and a good way to test your friends' personalities.  Evil Smile

Of these, when I was young, I would have gone for Roger Dean.  But now I find his art a little boring.  I much prefer Paul Whitehead.

I would go for Barney Bubbles above all these though.
Help me I'm falling!
