Swervedriver vs. Drive Like Jehu
Two bands known for their unique compositional sense– Swervedriver played a heavy, romantic, labrynthine version of shoegaze, while Drive Like Jehu took influence from prog-rock and became a predecessor to math rock.

Big cheers for Drive Like Jehu - I'd heard about them for a long time but had never located an album until just recently. I first became interested in them when one of my favorite bands at the time, Creedle, was being compared to them. Creedle never made much of a splash and their stuff's impossible to find nowadays, but if you like DBJ, you might like them too.
Anyway, Drive Like Jehu's two albums are intense and "epic" (as overused as that word is, it really does apply here) and I'm glad to finally get them.
