Out of the big 6 of british 70's prog (well, there will always be discussion whether it's big 3, big 4, 5, or whatever, and exactly which bands should be included, but for me it's big 6, including Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Yes, ELP, Genesis, and Jethro Tull), this 3 are as far as I understand the strong debuts, which made a statement when they were released and gave the bands certain degree of popularity from the beginning. So, which one do you like better?

Really hard decision, betw. Floyd and King Crimson. Went with KC, just because I fondly recall when I bought that album and listened to it at a young age. On the other hand, even though Floyd's my all-time favorite, I didn't  really ever hear their debut album till much, much later.

ELP for me, because it's the only one that actually came out in the 70s. I'd have voted for them, anyway. Wink

In the court of the Crimson King..

ELP in second place.

Piper doesn't do much for me to be honest.

Three great albums, but Syd's only masterpiece is my fave.
Curiosity killed a cat, Schroedinger only half.

As I was not a 'Syd era' PF fan, listened few times to this album, nevertheless it's good indeed. But ELP's debut is unique in the prog world, an essential one and a must have for any prog rock fan. Haven't listened yet to any KC's album.

Court by Crims. I love Syd Barrett's Piper (oh well - Floyd's of course), but could'n vote aginst Crims. ELP are on the beautiful third position :-)
