Well I had to spin that song this morning and yes it's a really good one. There seems to be a connection in sound  between say KC's Discipline and Eno and Talking Heads.

I don't have a lot of time these days 'cause i'm working too much but this weekend I want to check out these songs Fripp was on in these various albums and I really appreciate all the feedback so far.
Thanks everyone! All hail Fripp!

MovingPictures and I were talking about that just recently. It seems that Belew and Fripp just missed each other in Talking Heads, so how did they end up getting together to reincarnate King Crimson as it became? And how did Tony Levin fit into that puzzle? I can guess why Bruford was brought on board.

Thanks Ian, and I like the way they have it in the liner notes on "Pawn Hearts" as they list each band member and what he plays then instead of putting Fripp as a guest they just have it as "and Fripp: Electric guitar"
Hammill plays acoustic and slide guitar but Fripp takes care of the electric guitar throughout, very cool.

Love that album and you Mosh and Sublime picked it.
According to the liner notes Fripp played electric guitar on just one track here and that was "Emperor".

The difficult thing in some of these cases is what songs does he play on. On Gabriel's first three albums he's playing lead guitar but there's at least one more lead guitarist on the first two then on "Melt" there's three or four of them.
Same with Eno's solo stuff. There may be re-issues of some of these that have more detailed accounts of who plays where but not on my recordings.
Thanks Richard!

The whole fripp late 70's trilogy:
1. peter gabriel 2
2. daryl hall sacred songs
3. fripp's exposure

Those 3 together are some of the best.

as vocalists daryl and peter never sounded more raw and exposed... the music on both of these albums are my favorite of each artist.

i think white shadow for peter and
NYCNY for daryl.  This video still blows my mind:  Minus The Bear and Daryl doing NYCNY

Fripp will forever confound the talented and wise.  I love it!

Are you sure? LOL

Fripp played lead guitar on the song "Nil Recurring" from that EP but did his frippertronics on "Way Out Of Here" from Fear Of A Blank Planet. So two total songs but to be honest I forgot he played lead guitar on the title track of that EP.

Man i'm glad to see Iona get some love. I had forgot he played synth guitar on the two Iona abum but it makes sense given the thick atmosphere we get on those at times. I wonder if he played synth guitar on any other recordings?

Some good albums up there , but I am really fond of Gabriel's first one.
To be honest I have never eally paid that much attention to Fripp's guitar work on any of them . He tends to blend in on other people's albums to the extent that it 's not that noticeable...except for his work with Eno.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

There's a track on 'My life in the Bush of Ghosts' by Brian Eno & David Byrne called 'Regiment' with an extremely Fripp style solo.. i know he's not credited and its probably David Byrne but it really sounds like him!
'Vikings' on Fools mate by Peter Hammill and on a totally 'not' prog track, 'Fade away and radiate' by Blondie!Wink

I'm not sure about Belew and Fripp and how they became acquainted but Levin did play on Fripp's Exposure album from 1979.
