King Crimson - Court of the Crimson King Yes - Hard to choose twixt Fragile and Close to the Edge but probably the latter. Genesis - Errkkk .... Selling England, Trick of the Tail or Duke. The question was favourite album, which does not necessarily equate to best album. I don't do tracks.

Yes - Close to the Edge - Siberian Khatru King Crimson - Red - Starless Genesis - Trespass - Looking for Someone
I'm delighted to see there are some Trespass fans in this forum. Although I wouldn't call Trespass the "best" Genesis album, it is the one I am personally most fond of.
King Crimson is a hard choice. Though Starless is, in my opinion, their best song without any doubt, I'm not so sure whether Red is really their best album because I don't like "One More Red Nightmare" too much.

Yes - Close to the Edge
Genesis - Live (The Intro to "Watcher of the Skies" is classic)
King Crimson - Oh God, impossible choice. My favourite studio album is "Red" simply because of "Starless" ("Providence", in common with most of their improvs, is a mess). Live albums is a choice between "The Night Watch" (particularly "The Fright Watch" segueing into "The Talking Drum") OR "Bartley Butsford" segueing into "Exiles" on the 4-CD "Great Deceiver" set.
