Bowie always managed to keep his fans and listeners wondering what would be next. And he didn't disappoint. The moment I first listened to Space Oddity I was hooked - Then I followed along with Ziggy Stardust, Diamond Dogs, Hunky Dory, with infectious songs like "Rebel Rebel." That was early Bowie, or Bowie Part One. Bowie Part-Two - He continued evolving and moving forward with his collaborations with Brian Eno & Robert Fripp, that produced two great album, Heroes and Low. I always felt both albums should have been a double-album - Both albums included beautiful ambient and instrumental tracks - With such a long career of great music, there will always be something to like and discover about him. |

That site which explains Bowie's songs is beyond incredible.
Every artist/band should be covered in such detail. |

I haven't gone far. As it usually goes, my first Bowie purchases were Low and "Heroes". I really enjoyed most of the latter, much less so the former.
Next stops: Ziggy ... and Station To Station.

There's a good version of that song on his 1978 live album, Stage. Crazy song. There's an amazing Bowie blog that has extensive details of every track he's ever recorded. It's called "Pushing Ahead Of The Dame". Check it out: https://bowiesongs.wordpress.com/2011/02/10/breaking-glass/

It's been a good year or so since my last spin of Low, yet here the other day I had a dj in my brain that insisted on playing 'Breaking Glass' for a good three hours.
Breaking glass in your room again Ahh good times. |

I've been listening to the Tin Machine albums recently. There are some good tracks on them, not every track but at least half of the songs are good. I think they get unfairly dismissed by a lot of critics and Bowie fans.

I like most of his albums, and it's so difficult to me to make a choice... also because I can find terrific songs even in albums I don't like very much (an example: I'm not very much into "Scary Monsters...", but "Ashes to Ashes" is a masterpiece definitely). An honorable mention for "The Next Day": I didn't expect such a good album after all these years!

this is a rare and beautiful song recorded by Bowie during Ziggy Stardust in 1971 but not released at the time. it's different, I love this song, it's vulnerable, mostly because of those vocals.
