Would've voted for the Harvest girl!

If Anneke Van Giersbergen had been listed I'd have voted for her though.

Yet to hear '~'/'Belighted' by Iamthemorning.

Check them out ASAP, they're easily my favourite modern prog band even if they've got chamber poppy influences. The debut especially is just pure bliss Smile

Christina by some margin although Lee Douglas has a lovely voice and I've just started getting serious about Panic Room after realising I liked Visionary Position quite a lot. Mostly Autumn is a band I've yet to check out properly so can't comment on them. I know Heather is very highly regarded though.

If Heather Findlay had only sung one song - Evergreen - I would have still voted for her. I've never heard anyone sing more beautifully than that. I've not heard/seen much of Heather recently: she used to live in the next village to me and I saw her regularly, but she's disappeared recently.

Olivia Sparnenn is also fantastic, as is Anne-Marie Helder. Shame Joanna Hogg wan't included - another hauntingly beautiful voice.

Magenta has quite good vocals as I recall, and also they aren't Anathema.

Surprised that Anneke isn't an option in either poll (this one or Drew's).  A lot of modern prog female singers sound like they are influenced by her, at least to me.
