Epic Southern rock songs. Must be over 6 minutes long, of course. Taking their cue from the Allman Brothers (who would win this poll if I included them), these bands made Strats and cowboy hats the basis for a career. Yeah, Green Grass! Not sure if it's better than Skynyrd but I haven't heard it nearly so often. Epic Southern Rocking.

Southern rocks aren't (weren't) aired here with a few exceptions. One of these exceptions, back in the 1970s, was 'Free Bird' and so it gets my vote (too obvious, no?). Anyway, all are great songs!

Tough choice between the Outlaws and Blackfoot...I went with Blackfoot.
Actually hope I never hear Freebird again |

Rough guess...I've heard this song 814,284 times and played it another 1,046 times in various cover bands over the years.
That would be a yes. |

I always liked the Molly Hatchet song...didn't even know it was a cover of an Allman Brothers tune for a long time. I'll give it the nod...plus, are Molly Hatchet album covers great or what?

First vote for "Take the Highway?"
That's a progressive country song if there ever was one. |

Never thought of myself as a redneck, but I own every one of these albums....
Gotta roll with Freebird, although Marshall Tucker Band never did get the recognition they deserved. Some sad stories came out of that band too. |

I shouldn't have voted knowing less than Rednecks about Southern Rock, but FREE BIRD!

"Free Bird" is huge, but hugely overplayed. Going with the Outlaws for this one.

I haven't posted enough to vote, but it'd go with Molly Hatchet. Always liked their version of Dreams. I'd give a nod to Marshall Tucker, but for me, Can't You See is their defining epic.
