Bagel still alive, don't care for Zeuhl much and the Hall is my favorite by Hawkwind, they get the nod.

As I already stated in another poll: "Fact And Fiction" is a real neo classic for me. Still, not voting for it (yet).
I need to give Hawkwind a chance (don't know the album; actually, I'm a Hawkwind-illiterate).
The Soft Machine album is quite good too, so who knows...
I won't debagel F&F just for the debageling itself.
Using the week to give the respective polls some deliberate votes.

Quite sportive/sportsmanlike, Micky, to include so many neo albums in the polls!
I know you don't immerse yourself 24/7 in neo, so: Clap

I keep forgetting ... for some reason.. that you aren't a collab Marcel.

why is that? Never asked or never wanted. You do have the knowledge the temperment.

We discussed the album selections at length in the collab zone. I stated this as the band contests were going on last winter.  The basis of it was the work I did for a site before joining PA's were we looked at albums objectively and ranked them across several very difficult to measure ideals.  Influence, impact, creativity, and yes.. popularity. That was only the starting poiint and most all of these neo albums were on it.

While I will take 'credit' for a lot of selections (most of the non-English) no surprise since that is I love of 70's prog rock and know best.  I did have a lot of help and great suggestions.  Including from the Neo team. Thumbs Up Yeah, I do enjoy pissing on neo. Only for fun of course. No it is definitely not my stylistic cup of tea, but to deny them their rightful place. Oh no. There were a few I suggested, a few others suggested that well.. are they in the 128 'greatest' prog albums.. probably not.. but we thought they were great and since the main goal is exploration.. I left them in.  Not coincidently they are not doing well.. but if one or two people discover them.. the the main goal was met!

Why I am not a collab... erm, not being asked, surely.
But... I never asked for it either. I had a busy job from 2007-2015, being head of a church district, organizing youth camps in Africa and whatnot. So I was just happy just posting a few posts per day, and was honored and happily surprised to be asked to become VIP member. Never was the biggest of contributors, but my love for PA was a steady love and still is.
Also... I never was a real connaisseur in one of the subgenres. I'm a generalist, really, although I definitely prefer some genres (symphonic, RPI, Canterbury, jazz-fusion, eclectic, crossover, neo) to others (electronic, Zeuhl, Krautrock). And, although I listened to many prog albums, on a global (PA) scale I felt that others still knew many more albums than I did.
Since last year I have more spare time but nevertheless haven't contributed that much extra to PA. The polls you're presiding are really arousing my interest in participating on the forum again. So thanks!

Right, so there had been a whole preparation on collaborational level for the polls. I had no idea. Well, you guys surely made up a nice series of polls. If it was the FIFA World Championship Soccer, I couldn't be more excited. Clap
