ahh.. that explains it. Raff and I had very good eyes for spotting collab material when we both collabs, leading teams and the such. I had wondered why you hadn't. More than a few we approached didn't want the headache. If you remember.. the forum back then was a much different place. More more combative, like the Wild West with Tony having to clean the bodies off of main street every night after the bars closed for the night, it is lot more relaxed now. And we just started the thread in the collab announcing the next set of polls we are going to unleash.. .. starting at the end of the year. THIS ONE will be the best of the 3. We are learning from the first 2. Some things we would have done differently and worked them into the greatest contest PA's has ever seen!!

Oh yes, I remember! I had already noticed that the forum had changed a lot. I sometimes miss the trolls (good old Karney in particular) because they brought much life on the forum, but the trolling itself was quite another story of course. Yes, the cataracts and waterfalls are out of PA. PA has turned into a broader river with more fishing grounds, and less deadly currents.

hahah.. well said... a number of us have come back in the last year and we all immediately noticed.. and to be honest.. liked the change. It was fun, but it is nice now to walk down main steet here and not always being callled out and forced to gun down some troll or meathead .. or worse yet.. get knifed in the back because you think some band is.. or is not prog good times..but that sport is for the young.

Oh Micky, another reason why I never volunteered for collab: I always felt, as it came to prog, like living in the past. (Yes, like Jethro Dull ) . I mean: each year I got a PM that I could name my top 10 prog records of the last year, but I had no interest in modern prog (with a few exceptions). I felt that a real collab should have his/her ears open for new music, which I obviously hadn't.
I must say, the first round classic polls being planned a week before a week of modern polls was an excellent idea. I was so into the classic polls of the first week that I quite naturally fell into the modern polls. As I told you, I listened to more modern prog in the last week than in the 20 years before. My ears got suddenly opened and I feel like a dinosaur from Jurassic park being brought to modern times.
Okay, having said that: if there's any need for collabs in some field, just let me know.
BTW completely off topic, I just realized that there is another electronic album that I love. It's the one in my avatar. It's completely electronic and I love it!

I did position them that way. Our fear with the moderns was ..well.. lack of participation and interest. So I figured to lead with the classics and either I was right.. or I was wrong. I was really pleased to see the moderns get the strong participation they did, and that so many did as I did and took the chance to explore what they didn't know rather than ignore it or simply vote on what they did know.
