I'm only glad that he didn't suffer unnecessarily, and send sympathy to his friends and family.  


I'll be curious to see if Chris and Jon made amends before his passing?  

We have now lost two of the five founding members of Yes....this is like being at the Grey Havens, watching the boats sail over the sea.

Yes: Band Bassist Chris Squire Dies at Age 67
Squire, who co-founded the band, was diagnosed with Acute Erythroid Leukemia earlier this year. The band confirmed his death in a statement, and said, “We shall forever love and miss him."

Truly one of the great bass players of all-time and one of the greats/founders of progressive rock. It sucks to see so many musicians I love passing away.

hmmmm, i think i want to change my profile picture in tribute to one of if not THE (probably the latter for me) greatest bass player in the world!! Yes is my favorite band of all time, and of course this truely saddens me. I wonder how other people will react to this news because I'm very curious. Anyway, thanks to this I will now feel down and out for the rest of the day now knowing of this passing. Chris is definitely a part of the Yes sound, and a part of the reason why I adore these guys so much!!! Despite that, I WILL STILL continue to support the band even with its many lineup changes. I don't care what anyone else says, I'll follow them to the day I die goddamnit!!! RIP Squire...............Cry

Amen.  If they try to carry on that band name without Squire and Anderson, they truly are a Vegas lounge act.  The other guys can still work together and many Yes fans will support their new endeavors.  Just stop calling it YES.

My feelings are like I lost a close person. Chris Squire has been one of my biggest musical heroes, from the age of 11 (I am 29 now). He lead me through fairy tale-like perception of music in my childhood, with his emotional bass/vocals in otherworldly pieces like Starship Trooper, Ritual or Safe - Canon Song and many many others. Later, becoming musician myself, I developed endless "rational" admiration for his musicianship. He has been a part of some of most precious moments thanks to his music. Despite my affection for Jon Anderson and others, I feel he was the heart of Yes.

Very sad news. For me too it was Fragile and it's thunderous bass sound which led me to Yes! Band was my number one for years. I think that tonight it's again time to pick up some Yes cds and give my respect to the best prog bass player ever!
