^Swilson's too retro to be considered modern. To me, he's living in the past. LOL

Time to go modern. Here we have the prog-inspired modern masters of the dark psychedelick sounds, The Legendary Pink Dots.

Speaking of Wishbone Ash, check out this fantastic live version of "Vas Dis"!  Martin Turner just WAILS on his Rickenbacker bass, and his ability to scat sing while playing is uncanny!

Oh yeah, cool threads too!  Andy Powell's plaid pants are to die for!

^ It looks more like Rik Kenton, the bassist in-between Roxy debut and For Your Pleasure. I refer to my Roxy S/T gatefold which is a U.S. pressing, it includes Virginia Plain, and has a photo of Kenton, not Simpson, and I didn't think Simpson had long hair, not in the U.K. version of the album, though it could be tied back ??

There's Mackay, Thompson, Ferry, Eno, and Manzanera, but who is the guy on the far right? Wikipedia tells me it's possibly Graham Simpson.

The definitive progressive fashion statements were made by bands that were only in it for the money.
And here are my mothers:
