hi, my name is Salvo Lazzara, from Rome, Italy.  i would like to present you my solo project called Pensiero nomade and submit it for inclusion.
i've started with it after the end of my road with a band called Germinale, whith which i composed 3 cds.
pensiero nomade is a land of crossing of many genres, jazz, acoustic music, ambient and minimalism, with, of course, a touch of prog, expecially related to king crimson, and italian prog band of the 70's.
at the moment, i've printed and released 4 cds:

Pensiero nomade – per questi ed altri naufragi (BTF/AMS Records)

Pensiero nomade – Tempi migliori (BTF/AMS Records)
Pensiero nomade – Materia e memoria (Dodicilune Records)
Pensiero nomade – Imperfetta solitudine (zone di Musica)
and the 5th (da nessun luogo - filibusta records) is on the run for the end of october.
actually this is the line up:

Salvo Lazzara: guitars, bass, touch guitar, stick, oud, loop and samples.

Alessandro Toniolo: flute.

Davide Guidoni: Drums, percussions, samples.

Fabio Anile: piano, keyboards, percussions, samples.

Luca Pietropaoli: trumpet, flugelhorn.

Andrea Pavoni: piano, keyboards, vocals

Michela Botti: vocals

hope you'll like it..

This group has connections to dark Italian band DAAL (they share drummer Davide Guidoni), and in some ways would definitely be best properly proposed to go under the Jazz/Fusion sub-genre. Granted this is a very acoustic based take on jazz/fusion, so that team may have to consider if the group is appropriate for the site (not `ROCK' enough would be my concern)

As for those clips, perhaps it would be better if they were presented like this, so people can instantly play them!

This is going to be difficult...The first two clips are definitely closer to the jazz end of things...yet they also remind me of a jazzier take on Steve Hackett and Anthony Phillips' solo music.

However, these two are more in an ambient, atmospheric style, which would probably be something the Eclectic team would consider listening to:

I don't know....can anyone suggest anything more for these guys?

This is a tough one indeed. The music is obviously beyond your ordinary pop and rock music, but is it prog rock?
The closest I get in terms of references is Pepe Maina, who is here under prog electronic, and Codona who resides in Indo Prog / Raga Rock.

Dave! Todd, Raff and I have been discussing this group privately, do you think perhaps the Eclectic team might be able to find a home for them, if they would be more accepting of the various styles the band works in?

It'd be the very first act of it's kind in eclectic that's for damn sureLOL

But yeah I'm not sure. I'm not even sure it fits in on PA....regardless of how much I like it.

Yeah, I kinda wondered if I was reaching a little!

It's an ambitious mix of rock, ambient, jazz-fusion...

Does Prog-Related mean `artists with connections to prog rock', or can it include `ambitious music with progressive qualities'?

Uh oh, here comes the again!

Prog Related has become a sub where PA only adds bands/artists who in some way have influenced or made their mark on prog rock.

So basically the only chance I see is getting a proper team to check out this artist.

I reviewed Imperfetta solitudine on my blog, and other prog sites (notably Italian ones) have covered the album. Yes, it's not traditional prog by any means, but I believe Pensiero Nomade would be a good addition to the site. Unfortunately, I don't think they would be a good fit for RIO/Avant, or else I'd toss them to the ZART.
