I am not asking whether you think Solefald is prog or not - they are.

What I'm asking is if there are any who know this band and might be able to help in completing their biography and discography! As I only know their latest album; In Harmonia Universali.

OK, the only two genres that Solefald fits are general Experimental and Goth Metal.

Edit:  Looks like that's what they're listed as at allmusic too, whaddaya know.

I have only heard their latest album - so you might be right about the goth thing there, it might apply to their earlier albums, but "In Harmonia Universali" has absolutely nothing to do with goth, that's for sure.

Experimental metal - that I agree with.

I've heard each Solefald album and I've arrived to the conclusion that they're a imaginative Goth Metal group.  They're Goth Metal because of they're specific anti-social and black-metal tinged lyrics.

Sorry man - Post-Black metal, or Avant-Garde metal, both which I think
are suitable for this site. Are you listening hard enough?

lyrics have little bearing on the SOUND of the music, and even if they did,
Solefald does not have "anti-social or black metal tinged lyrics" There's a
lot about philosophy, society and spirituality, and it's several hundred
times more intelligent than any lyrics cradle of filth or any goth band ever
penned.

And given the amount of just plain wrong opinion on both prog and metal
that comes from Allmusic.com, why would you trust that site for info on
those genres?

Logos: I'd be glad to help fill in their discography. I've got all their
albums.

Goth is not anti-social, it's non-confirmist.

Oh and Age of Silence is one more band to be added. I don't think anyone can say they aren't prog. I'll add them today, as they only have one album, but I'll have to write a bio first.

The recent announcement is that Red for Fire, Black for Death is actually
going to be two albums. The first part, Red for Fire, is supposed to be
finished and shipping in November, with the second part sometime in
early twenty-ought-six.

Chalk it up - another band goes down the ambitious and dangerous path
of the double concept album, fully based on Norse Mythology and with
tons of guest vocalists, like one Trickster Garm of Ulver and Arcturus as
Loki.
Think they can pull it off?

It definitely deserves a place in the Archives. And about Age of Silence (even proggier), what the hell are you waiting?

Solefald, goth metal LOL.  That's funny as hell.  Anywho, Solefald are awesome and I totally agree with morpheusdraven.  Their best album has to be Neonism.  I picked that album up about 5 years ago and is still in my top 10 albums that I own, absolutely amazing stuff.  Also, the fact the band consists of only 2 members shows that they are great musicians.  You can't compare Solefald with anything you have heard before.  You know how you can listen to a band and say, oh yeah, this band sounds like A mixed with B, or something along those lines.  With Solefald, they're in a league of their own.

I didn't know they're releasing a new album, I will have to get that!

yeah, their website has been down for over a year, but since Lazare is in
Borknagar, he occasionally posts Solefald updates on the Borknagar
forums. That's where most of the news has been coming from, bits and
pieces at a time.

Sturmgeist. A thrashier project from Cornelius that I've never heard but is supposed to be killer. And I think he's been publishing poetry, although I may be getting the two confused.

Solefald has found their own sound which I just call Gothimental.  If that fits into the site, it's new to me.  I do think that The Linear Scaffold and Neonism are good records.
