My parents always played this on the way up to see family in West Virginia.  Winding through the mountains on I-77, the music suited the setting so well. I love it!!  Big smile

One song from this album is this. Just a man and his dobro.

Oh, and would this be better in Zeuhl or RPI?

Me neither.  It's bluegrassish but nice.

Bluegrass music is a form of American roots music, and a subgenre of country music. Bluegrass was inspired by the music ofAppalachia.[1] It has mixed roots in Irish,Scottish, Welsh, and English[2] traditional music, and also later influenced by the music of African-Americans[3] through incorporation of jazz elements. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluegrass_music

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Yes, other than the instrument, it's really not bluegrass. Try just about anything with Chris Thile (either Nickel Creek or The Punch Brothers) if you're interested in progressive bluegrass:

Or acoustic guitar bluegrass variations, try Leo Kottke:

to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

I've seen The Punch Brothers twice this year - they are awesome live.
