With the release of Spectre, I was thinking of songs that might have been good themes for the franchise. Any thoughts?

Here's some of mine:

"Do It Again" - Steely Dan
"The Man Who Sold The World" - David Bowie
"Sinner" - Judas Priest

Banco - La Conquista Della Posizione Eretta.
Particularly the first half.

Just off the top of my head:

Bjork - "Bachelorette"
Lana Del Ray - "Shades of Cool"
Lacuna Coil - "Swamped"

I'm sure I'll think of others at some point, but those three have that lush Bond-ish bombast while being completely different from each other in many ways.

On a side note here's a funny parody of an actual Bond song.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I always the bass riff of Tool's 'Schism' would be cool in a Bond movie.

I'll throw in Alice Cooper's "Man With The Golden Gun" which was actually going to be the theme tune but was turned down.

The first thing I thought when I heard this, is that it's a very Bond movies inspired track. It would fit in so perfectly in a movie.

Estradasphere from their masterpiece of an album Palace Of Mirrors.

Agree-And yes, great album-

I also hear EL&P's Tarkus - In some strange way might work in a James Bond movie!

Can't recall any song right now. Iommi's solo at the end of War Pigs always gave me that kind of feeling.

^ Speaking of Black Sabbath, "Rat Salad" would have made a good addition to the Diamonds Are Forever soundtrack.

Halo of Flies is about spies, and is a damn good jam:

...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined
to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

^ Well, Chris Cornell was involved in "You Know My Name" from Casino RoyaleLOL

For a more avant-garde approach, there's always King Crimson ("Larks Tongues In Aspic, Part 2", "Red", "Frame By Frame", "Thela Hun Ginjeet").
