^If you haven't listened to the other two, I would definitely recommend them.

never heard of slowcore Confused, what is that?

I like that Antlers album a lot, and their next album in 2011.

Slightly off-topic: Slowcore has to be one of the most misleadingly named music genres I've ever encountered. Isn't "-core" usually meant to suggest the whole thing is a sub-genre of hardcore punk? Always imagine it would refer to "punk in slo-mo" stuff like later Black Flag, Flipper, The Melvins, early Swans and The Wipers...

Slow, minimalist, often sad indie rock. A sample from each album aside from Hospice (links because I can't seem to post more than one video per post):

The name seems misleading, but there is a connection. Codeine's sound is a logical extension of post-hardcore, as are other slowcore bands such as Seam and lowercase. Even Red House Painters and Idaho have their -core-y moments. Carissa's Wierd bears little resemblance to post-hardcore, but they actually came from a hardcore scene and their sound arose only out of the necessity to play quietly as to not wake up one of the members' grandmother. I can't say Low really has any connection to post-hardcore, though. "-core" is misused a lot of times, and it is here, but it's definitely not the most egregious usage.

Makes sense then. Also that Swans did gradually transition to mellower material, to the point they today are basically Pink Floyd for goths.

One of my favorite albums that wasn't mentioned is The Opiates by Thomas Feiner & Anywhen.

^I've only tried that album once, but wasn't able to get into it. It's weird that I wasn't, because I've always wanted an album with strings that thick that isn't Scott Walker to exist. I guess I'll give it another try.
