Omitting some obvious choices like Whipping Post, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, etc. Take your pick for which of these southern rock songs you believe to be the most progressive (by whatever metric you define "progressive" as).

Hot 'Lanta:

Les Brers In A Minor:

Bougainvillea

Nowhere To Go

Saddle Tramp

I Never Dreamed

Take The Highway

A New Life

You Ain't Foolin' Me

Running Like The Wind

Fall of The Peacemakers

when i was a kid a doller was worth ten dollers - now a doller couldnt even buy you fifty cents

Anything from this album:

- From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

the only thing southern about that album was that was Rod Evan's fake hick accent.. and damn if he didn't NAIL it Clap

obviously the Allmans.. they could be here.. likely should but who cares about that that really. the music speaks for itself.

from the vastly underrated and overlooked Win Lose or Draw album

That was an  underrated album but the band was going through a shake up and of course Duane was not on it which affected the overall sound greatly imho.....but that track was nice and certainly can fit the bill for a 'proggy' (oops...there's that word again...) southern rock tune.

Dixie Dregs - 'Bring em Back Alive' is at least equal to anything listed here.

Yay.

For the life of me I can't figure out how "I Never Dreamed" is particularly progressive.
