Wolf City, although I don't know the others very well.  Some great moments on Wolf City!

RIP, Lothar Meid!

I ultimately love Tanz the most, and it's one of my all time most spun albums, but I can't possibly forget to praise Yeti either.

I vote for Carnival because I've listened to it few hours ago. A singular coincidence.

Tomorrow I'm celebrating Snowmageddon 2016 eating milk sandwiches!
So, Yeti, of course... But no vote. I haven't heard the others yet.  LOL

"Utopia" is NOT an Amon Düül 2 album. At the time "Wolf City" was recorded there was some quarrel among the band which resulted in a split. The split members recorded an album of their own, but in the same studio. In typical Amon Düül 2 fashion thy all made peace with each other during the recordings, which led to members of both Utopia and Amon Düül 2 playing on both albums. And one song ("Deutsch Nepal") was liked so much that both bands wanted to have it on their album.

For the re-release of "Utopia" the record company decided to publish it under the name Amon Düül 2, but this is definitely incorrect.

This information is from the excellent Amon Düül biography "Tanz der Lemminge" by Ingeborg Schober, who was a close friend of the band in the 70s.

Any of the first three, Wolf City is great too. I've never heard the other two.

as Friede already said: "Utopia" is not an Amon Düül 2 album. it is a self-titled album by a German band named "Utopia", which was founded when Amon Düül 2 had a split

I love this band, but I don't find any of their albums really consistent. They have many great tracks but they are scattered all over the place. The album that I find strongest from the first to the last minute is Live in London. Among the studio albums, "Tanz" is the densest and gets my vote. One could have thrown Nada Moonshine # in; it's a pity that the later Duuls are not represented.

^^ Live in London is one of my favorite live albums. The Revisited Rec. edition is fantastic.

Hi,

I have no favorites here ... I live "Yeti", as much as "Dance of the Lemmings", as much as "Wolf City", as much as "Vive La Trance", as much as "Hijack", as much as "Nada Moonshine #".

Still, for my money, the best and most eccentric of all bands ... and unlike most of them, it had personality, instead of just copy!

RIP Lothar Meid ... indeed!

BTW ... way back when I ran one of these ... might want to check those results!
