The Winstons' debut...yet again
Gotta be careful I don't overplay this one, but it is proving to be quite difficult. Damn those infectious Italians and their affinity for the old school Canterbury sound.

Oh lala Simon! Must've been years since I last span that. Great album if my memory serves me right. Thanks for the reminder.

Yeah, I really enjoy this one every time I give it a whirl. Quite a unique thing they had going on!

Jazz Rock /Fusion, it says here - I'm not sure about that, but damn if I know where they would fit better. I like these albums that are hard to place.

Sorry my phone ran out of juice, but safe to say I completely agree with that sentiment. The harder it is to categorise music the better it tends to be. Probably why I absolutely adore records like Clivage's Mixtus Orbis and Material's Hallucination Engine. The former being something of a zeuhl influenced blaxpoitation album outta India - the latter a kinda Eastern IDM album with suave fusion touches and a cameo from Bill Burroughs. Yep I just recommended two albums there sorry I can't help it.

I remember getting a distinct Canterbury vibe from Opus 5, but it has been quite a long time since my last visit.

Quality records signed them after losing Harmonium in 75 hoping they'll be as popular but it didn't happen. As far as i'm concerned, this is one of Québec's finest prog record...A Symph Canterbury Giant? and great lyrics too.

My French isn't good enough to follow the lyrics properly, but I gather they are animated by politics. In that respect much like one of my other Quebecois favourites - who don't seem to get many mentions here - Conventum. I can imagine they would have made one hell of a double bill!
