Red followed by Relayer. The weak 'Power and the Glory holds no place among the others.

easy one there... eliminate the horrifically overrated popular bands and you are left with 3 real gems
Going with the Focus album.. symphonic prog generally sucks.. but that album is priceless.
the Wyatt album and PFM round out the best of the lot...

Between Mirage and Hamburger Concerto... just over Red (and Relayer, which has the incredible Gates of Delirium). I guess I'm giving a slight edge to Hamburger Concerto, but I do love Mirage too.

Rock Bottom followed by The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage. Rock Bottom is a really special album to me.

Mirage for me, as one of my top prog albums period. Crime of The Century, Relayer and Red are all very good too.

Extremely hard, but I go for Red, an album which should have launched Crimson as a massive worldwide band until Uncle Bob decided to run away. It is an album cited as an influence by so many influential rock bands outside of prog. |
I'm usually in agreement with you on most things, but on this, I'm not. I just cannot stand Red at all.
My top 5 would be
1) Mirage 2) Hamburger Concerto 3) Relayer 4) The Lamb 5) Crime of the Century
