We've got some cool/cheesy stuff in Canada that I like

Kim Mitchell - Poppy hard rock, but a master of writing catchy riffs
Prism - Another poppy hard rock band
Big Sugar - Reggae/blues/rock ...At least they're not 'Magic!'
I Mother Earth - Funk/Hard rock/Psychedelic (Not sure how big they are elsewhere but they're an awesome 90s band)

Other bands:
Mudvayne - (primarily the first album) Nu metal
Che Aimee Dorval and Devin Townsend's Casualties of Cool is my most-played album according to last.fm
Fear Factory - Pretty sure other prog metal fans would like them but if not here ya go.
Collective Soul - Hard rock/pop. I dunno. Liked them as a kid and don't hate them now.

I like James Taylor and that might be the most embarrassing thing I like.

I like My Chemical Romance unashamedly.

I like a sh*t ton of modern production black metal but to be honest if you like prog black metal you would like these bands too so eh.
