Swedish guitarist Janne Schaffer has been around since the 60´s and during the 70´s most of his repertoire was progrelated. He is most known worldwide for his playing with ABBA but his soloalbums are mostly instrumental fusion/jazz/prog.

Here are som random clips from different albums:

I doubt that our admins would be willing to consider him for Prog Related tbf - that category is exceedingly hard to get into these days. For any band or artist to make it into Prog Related they firstly have to be a really well known name, secondly need to have made their mark on or have influenced the development of prog rock in some readily definable way, and thirdly need to have the support of one of our Special Collaborators, who would be required to prepare a case on their behalf to present to admins. I can't really see how Janne Schaffer satisfies the first two of these conditions to any great extent...and in that case he probably isn't likely to get over the third hurdle any time soon either.

His only chance for inclusion on here is probably in the 'proper' Jazz Rock/Fusion sub itself (based largely on his first four albums from 1973 to 1976) - and one of our admins is also a key member of the evaluation team for that sub...so just maaaaybe he might get considered there. Embarrassed

Proggnosis has him as a full-blown progressive rock artist (sub genre unassigned though): http://www.proggnosis.com/ARTIST_DETAIL.aspx?AID=3404, so it shouldn't do any great harm if he manages to squeeze in here too!
