Of the choices I would say Gilgamesh, primarily featuring musical use of synthesizers at the expense of other instruments, jazzy drumming providing time with excessive use of hi hat. Although I'm not blown away by it, it's a very solid album. I only know some but not all of the others. The vocals on the Cathedral album make me cringe a bit.

As much as I like Dave, Mesh, and Cath, Crafty Hands was just so good, and fairly innovative in '78 for an American group.

Manfred Mann. Not a big fan of Gilmours first solo, I prefer About Face.

I like your description of The SearchClap they certainly had a strong YES flavour to their music.

never heard of that. Embarrassed

A superb album by a band called Indexi, hailing from Bosnia of all places. The track Modra Rijeka II (one of the finest) can be listened here on PA.

I love that Wilson is such a huge Prog fan.
My top three on here are Jose Cid, Cathedral and Ange. All three have lots of mellotron. I do like Gilgamesh a ton but to me this is their weakest album.
Went with Jose Cid only because it has no votes.

I really like that album of Gilgamesh!
