Hi to all,
I don't understand why a magnificent band like "The Young Gods" is not on PA. From their first self-titled album in 1987 until 2015 "Music for Artificial Clouds" this band is clearly in the Prog Rock world. They could be easily classified in the "Rio/Avant-Prog" or "Experimental/Post Metal" subgenre because it is really kind of heavy sometimes. The singer reminds me of Jim Morrison with lyrics in English mostl,. but also in French and (probably) German.
Really, this is a big missing for all seekers of good Prog with an experimental - avant-garde edge. Please look for it!
Selling punk like some new kind of English disease! Is that the wave of the future?

If it's just a rec, thanks, but if you think they should be added to the PA database, you have to make a case; post tracks, make an argument, defend your position. But as a longtime member you probably know that.

Fantastic band. I used to listen to them a lot back in high school. Anyway experimental doesn't always equate prog. We've had these kinds of discussions before concerning The Fall, Pere Ubu and similar sounding post punk bands with overt experimental vibes to em....but do they really fit in on a prog rock site? I seriously doubt it.

That's my first impression as well. Anyway I have linked this thread and their official website to the ZART team.

I'm not even sure that they would fit into the ZART territory, but rather into the Prog Related category. Sometimes, they sound close to Voivod (sharing influences from industrial rock, space-rock and metal), but the Tech/Extreme Prog Metal isn't the best way to describe them.

I saw them live at RIO in 2014, to be honest I didn't feel they were very avant at all, more like experimental industrial post punk. I did think at the time I was much more likely to like them on album. I'll give them a listen.
